Applause

Directed and Edited by Bernhard Fasenfest. Tracked audio by Nathan Chan and Tano Brock.  Original song by Lady Gaga.

Lady Gaga has always been one of String Theory's primary inspirations. Not afraid to be bold, not afraid to go for something new. When Applause was first released, we were moved by the rich harmonies and rhythm and decided to shoot a music video. We ended up shooting in a darker setting for a more mysterious effect. Audio was recorded by Nathan Chan and mixed and mastered by Tano Brock. (http://youtube.com/spaceamongmany) For the video we enlisted the talents of Bernhard Fasenfest.

Overall it was a great experience and we are proud to present our newest music video, Applause by Lady Gaga.

Viva La Vida

The acoustic classic from 2000. Experience sound, music and cello in a totally new way with Coldplay's Viva La Vida for 5 Cellos! String Theory, Columbia University's premiere cello ensemble, is proud to be able to unite our love of music and cello to bring you this stunning music video. Original music by Coldplay. Shot and Edited by Jackie Ho. Filmed in Roone Arledge Auditorium.

Gangnam Style

Shot by Eric Chen. Filmed on Low Steps. Original music by PSY.

Don't You Worry Child

Directed and Edited by Max Bartick, Live Audio and Mixing by Adam Reis.

This is the culmination of so much hard work, patience and passion. Originally by Swedish House Mafia, we really feel that this song captures deep emotions. We decided to bring this amazing song to the soul of the cello, bringing about a different style to the original song.

Theme from Game of Thrones

We love this song so much, we had to do it justice with a epic video. Original music by Ramin Djawadi. Directed, Filmed and Recorded by Bernhard Fasenfest. Check him out at http://vimeo.com/user15076506

Moves Like Jagger

Because it is just so groovy! Shot by Angela Song, edited by Nathan Chan. Filmed in John Jay Lounge.  Original music by Maroon 5.  Our first YouTube release

Collaboration with CU Sharp

Columbia's coolest a-cappella group. The texture of voices with cellos is amazing.
